Does anyone know anything about corsages...?

Okay, prom is on saturday. My date said he ordered my corsage and he's picking it up on friday. Will it last overnight...? I don't know how this works, I've never had a corsage before. He's new to this too, so I'm not sure he knows what he's doing.
